Lean medium – about half a cup

Odourless solvent – half a cup to a cup

Rags –  T- shirt rags are preferable.  Have about 2 the size of tea towels, or four smaller ones.

Box of tissues – big sturdy ones are good

Disposable gloves

2 decent sized jars with lids

Oil Paint in these colours:

White

Lemon yellow (a cool yellow)

Yellow medium/deep (a warm yellow)

cadmium red scarlet or scarlet hue (a warm red)

Alizarin crimson or crimson hue (a cool red)

Ultramarine blue (a warm blue)

pthalo blue (a cool blue)

Light red ochre (or similar.  Burnt sienna will also work)

Yellow ochre (or similar.  Gold ochre or raw sienna will work)

Raw umber (or a similar cool, dark brown)

Paynes grey (or a similar black or near-black)

Two Flat Brushes - Good quality, firm flat brushes, such as Neef Flat Stiff Synthetic.  One sized 12 (about 1 inch across the bristles) and one size 6, (about half an inch across).

One Filbert brush – size 2, 4 or 6

2 x painting surfaces – Oil painting paper, board, canvas or canvas board to paint on.

At least A4 sized, and no bigger and A3.  I prefer a smooth surface, such as a Timber painting panel,

or oil painting paper taped to a board.  You’re welcome to use canvas though.
