If you've always wanted to learn how to paint, this is your chance. Oil painting is a great place to start because your paint will not dry on your palette, so you can take your time as you learn Andrea's process for achieving vibrant and effective paintings.

Perhaps you were told you were no good at art as a school student, or you have never had the chance to learn to paint at all. This workshop for absolute beginners with 2023 Archibald Packing Room Prize winner Andrea Huelin will give you a place to start so that you can develop your own painting practice at home. From knowing what paints and brushes to get at the art shop (when you're ready), to ideas about what to paint, to shortcuts on doing a preliminary drawing (hint: you're allowed to cheat), you will learn Andrea's painting process from start to finish over three Fridays and one Saturday.
