Oil painting for absolute beginners
If you've always wanted to learn how to paint, this is your chance to give it a go.
About this workshop
Perhaps you were told you were no good at art as a school student, or you have never had the chance to learn to paint at all. This workshop for absolute beginners with 2023 Archibald Packing Room Prize winner Andrea Huelin will give you a place to start so that you can develop your own painting practice at home. From knowing what paints and brushes to get at the art shop (when you're ready), to ideas about what to paint, to shortcuts on doing a preliminary drawing (hint: you're allowed to cheat), you will learn Andrea's painting process from start to finish over three Fridays and one Saturday. Andrea will supply the materials in this course so that you can try before you buy. If you have the materials already, contact Andrea for a discount on the course. These workshops may also be suitable for you if you have painted before, but not for a long time, and you would like to start from the beginning. Is this course right for me? This workshop will suit beginners or people who would like a refresher on the basics and beyond.
